Public Sector undertakings (PSUs) job is the job everyone dreamt of. A state-owned enterprise in India is called a public sector undertaking (PSU) or a public sector enterprise. Those companies that are owned by the union government of India or one of the many state or territorial governments or both.

These are categorized into three based on the annual net profit, net worth, and turnover.

Recruitment Mode:

1. PSU HR Job through written Exam:

Now a days PSU is recruiting HR freshers (HR MT/ET/Executive HR) through two ways, some PSUs conducts their own written Exams, and based on the written Exam’s merit List called the Candidates for GD and Interview or only for the interview.

2. PSU Job through NTA UGC NET

Few PSUs are recruiting freshers based on the NET score (Paper Code 55 Labour Welfare/IR/HR) and then calling the candidates for GD/Interview or both.

NET Exam conducted every year twice by University Grants Commission (UGC) for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the Eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Assistant Professor Both, in Indian Universities and Colleges. NET Exam conducted every year twice by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Till June 2018, the CBSE conducted the NET in 84 subjects at 91 selected Cities of spread across the country. From Dec 2018 onwards, the UGC- NET is being conducted by the NTA.

The PSUs recruiting based on NET Score are:

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL)

VIZAG

National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC)

THDC India Limited

Power System Operation Corporation Limited (POSOCO)

Candidates who qualify PSUs written Exam or NET Exam only in Paper code 55 i.e. Labour Welfare/IR/HRM, based on the cut-off marks which totally depend upon the no. of Vacancy are then called for GD/Interview or Interview.

The final selection is made considering the total marks scored in Written as well as GD and Interview OR in the interview.

 

Educational Qualifications:

PSU Written Exam: Graduates with at least two years full-time Post-Graduate Degree/ PG Diploma/ Post Graduate Program in Management with specialization in HR/ Industrial Relations/ Personnel Management or MHROD or MBA or Master of Social Work with specialization in HR (Major) from recognized Indian University / Institute with minimum 60% marks.

For NET Exam (Paper code 55): Postgraduate candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Post Graduate Degree/ PG Diploma/ Post Graduate Program in Management with specialization in HR/ Industrial Relations/ Personnel Management or MHROD or MBA or Master of Social Work with specialization in HR (Major) from recognized Indian University / Institute. The Other Backward Classes (OBC) belonging to Non-Creamy Layer/Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Transgender category candidates who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible for this Test.

Candidates who are pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course or candidates who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination and whose result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examinations have been delayed may also apply for this test.

Relevant NET Subject should be Paper Code 55 or 17. Very few PSUs Consider Paper code 17 (Management) for HR Executive Post.

Age Criteria:

The Upper Age Limit is 30 Years for General (UR) & EWS category candidates.

Upper Age Limit is relaxed by:

  • 3 Years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)
  • 5 Years for SC / ST
  • Persons with Disabilities candidate:
  • By 10 Years for General (UR)
  • By 13 Years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)
  • By 15 Years for SC / ST
  • 5 Years for the candidates who are the domicile of J&K during the period from 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 as per Govt. of India guidelines.
  • Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen category candidates is as per extant Govt. of India guidelines.

 

Experience:

Generally, for the post of HR-MT/ET/Executive HR PSU recruits fresher candidates based on its own written exam or NET Score card. No work experience is required for this post.
